Air Products and Chemicals Inc. said it has completed the world’s largest industrial-gas complex. The plant will supply 75,000 metric tons per day (20,000 oxygen and 55,000 nitrogen) to a Saudi Aramco refinery being built in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, according to a statement distributed by PRNewswire.
A joint venture of Air Products and ACWA Holdings built and will operate the plant. Construction required as many as 6,000 workers at a time, the statement said, no time was lost to injury over the 25 million work hours spent on the plant.
Allentown, Pennsylvania-based Air Products said the gas complex will begin operating in phases during 2019.
