Victaulic is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its first patent.
The Forks Township, Pennsylvania-based maker of pipe-joining systems said its first patent was granted in 1919 for The Victory Joint, a mechanical bolted coupling that joined grooved pipe ends. Now known as the Victaulic coupling, the joint enabled quicker installation of pipe systems.
Victaulic, whose headquarters is near Easton in eastern Pennsylvania, now has about 4,000 employees worldwide and serves customers in 120 countries, the company said in a statement distributed by PRNewswire.
Its products have been installed in the Hoover Dam, Eiffel Tower, and the new Hudson Yards development on the west side of New York City.
