Review: Bluestone Lane, Manhattan West

After a recent walk on the High Line, we didn’t feel like taking the subway to the usual midtown breakfast stops. By chance, we came upon Bluestone Lane’s Manhattan West location, at 435 W. 31st St.

We had been to the Upper East Side location, set in an old church off Fifth Avenue. That is a beautiful spot, but indoor seating is tight.

The Manhattan West restaurant is spacious and has more offerings. This outlet of the Australian-inspired chain of restaurants and coffee houses has lots of seating and serves alcohol.

For us, the Classic Avocado Smash, $13, was a full meal for one, and the toast bar provided a light meal for $8. Coffee was excellent, and Bluestone service is always helpful and efficient. Breakfast for two was just under $30.

Try the Balthazar bread.

Note: the chain does not accept cash. Credit and debit only.
