Downtown Bethlehem’s Social Security Office Has Closed; New Office Will Open in Hanover Township

The Social Security office in the old Woolworth Building on Main Street in Bethlehem closed Friday.

A new office will open at 3450 High Point Boulevard, in the industrial park about two blocks east of Schoenersville Road in Hanover Township (Northampton County).

When that will open is a mystery “due to ongoing construction delays,” according to a sign posted at the former office at 555 Main St.

If people need to deal with the federal agency in person, offices at 41 N. Fourth St. in Allentown, and 134 S. Fourth St. in Easton are open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
