Air Products, the Lehigh County-based company that seeks to lead the world to a clean-energy future, has published its 2024 Sustainability Report.
“Generating a Cleaner Future” discusses the company’s sustainability goals, focusing on “clean hydrogen” projects around the world.
Air Products is the world’s largest producer of hydrogen, and has been investing in “green hydrogen,” which does not describe the color of the gas, but how it is made: renewable energy (solar, wind) is used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen, without emitting carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that has been linked to climate change.
“During this past year, Air Products has strengthened our previously announced environmental goals and with this report, we are also launching new goals for renewable energy and water management,” according to Seifi Ghasemi, Air Products’ chairman, chief executive and president.
Shares in Air Products are traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol APD. The closing price Tuesday was $277.91. At that price, the company has a market capitalization of $61.8 billion.
