Bethlehem Area School District to Review Bullying Policy; Superintendent Sets Goals of Reducing Absenteeism, Improving Reading and Math

Don’t be a fool! Go to school!

— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs

The Bethlehem Area School Board will meet Monday to review bullying policy, and to hear Superintendent Jack Silva’s goals for the current school year.

From the curriculum committee’s meeting agenda:

The superintendent’s 2024-2025 goals:

  1. The BASD will improve student attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism.
  2. The BASD will improve grade-level achievement in reading and math.

The bullying policy appears to be an update, with some wording changes. The policy is to be revisited every three years. The last review was in 2021.

The curriculum and facilities committees will meet in the Edgeboro Room at the Education Center starting at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9.
