Ascend Wellness holdings will open a medical-marijuana dispensary in Whitehall Township, the company’s fifth in Pennsylvania.
The dispensary at 20430 MacArthur Road will hold a grand opening on Saturday, Sept. 13. Items for sale include whole flower products, vaporizers, concentrates, ingestibles, topicals, and accessories. The opening starts at 9:45 a.m. Saturday.
Recreational marijuana is legal in New Jersey and several other states, but in Pennsylvania, sales are only legal to people who have a doctor-issued medical card.
Ascend operates 39 total locations, including the new Allentown-area dispensary.
Dispensary hours will be: Monday – Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday: 10 a.m. to 8 p,m., and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
See Ascend’s website for more information.
The medical card requirement is currently being bypassed by some dispensaries in PA. Supposedly they found a legal loophole involving THC derived from hemp instead of marijuana? But I checked myself and was able to purchase some with no medical card.
