Lehigh Valley Stocks for the Week: Shift4’s Isaacman Goes Into Space

— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs

Shift4 founder and Chief Executive Jared Isaacman went on a spacewalk this week, and his company’s stock did pretty well too.

Shift4 (NYSE: FOUR) closed on Friday at $82.92. Isaacman not only flew into space in a SpaceX mission, his company arranged a $450 million credit agreement. The revolving credit has a floating rate, based on SOFR (Secured Overnight Financing Rate).

Isaacman’s spacewalk on this mission drew a lot of attention and may have boosted awareness of Shift4, which processes payments for restaurants, hotels, sports teams and other businesses.

Air Products (NYSE: APD) also did well, reaching $290.00 in after-hours trading Friday, up about $20 for the week. The industrial-gas maker may be getting back to the $300 level. Some more agreements to supply “green” hydrogen (made without producing carbon emissions) would help.

PPL, the Lehigh Valley’s other New York Stock Exchange-listed company (ticker PPL) had a quiet week.
