Northampton County Executive McClure to Present 2025 Budget on Oct. 2

— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs

Northampton County Executive Lamont G. McClure will present his 2025 budget on Oct. 2.

McClure has presented six budgets since he was elected in 2017. Five of the budgets left the property-tax rate unchanged, and one of them cut taxes.

County Council has the final say on spending. Last year, Council made only minor changes to McClure’s proposal.

The property tax rate is 10.8 mills. Each mill equals $1 of tax per $1,000 of assessed property value, so the county tax bill for a property assessed at $50,000 would be $540.

Much of the county’s annual spending comes from “pass through” expenses that are funded by the State of Pennsylvania.

McClure presented a $582.5 million spending plan last year.

For details and a link to a webcast of the Executive’s presentation, see the county website. The budget will be presented at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2 in Council Chambers at the government center on Washington Street in Easton.
