Easton Council to Hold Two Discussions of Sale of Bushkill Drive Property

— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs

Easton City Council will meet twice this week to discuss the sale of the former Iron & Metal property on Bushkill Drive.

Tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 8) at 6 p.m., Council (as a committee) will hear a presentation on the potential sale to Foundry Development, a limited-liability corporation that plans apartments and commercial space for the Bushkill Drive site. See tonight’s agenda.

Earlier, the City said it would sell the land for $1.5 million.

There could be a final vote on Wednesday, when Council will meet at 6 p.m. The Bushkill Drive property is on that agenda too.

Also Wednesday, Council will hear a presentation on affordable housing and consider improvements to make Cattell Street on College Hill safer for pedestrians.

Some College Hill residents have complained about traffic coming from Forks Township, which has seen a lot of development.

Agendas can change. Check the city website.
