Lehigh County DA says a Bethlehem Man Pleads Guilty to 2022 Homicide; 22-Year-Old Faces As Long as 80 Years Behind Bars

A Bethlehem man might have to live to be 102 to get out of prison after multiple convictions.

And now, just the facts, right from District Attorney Gavin Holihan:

District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced a Bethlehem man pleaded guilty today to a 2022 homicide in Allentown as well as three other criminal cases.

Legious Robert Minder Jr., DOB 5/13/2002, pleaded guilty to Murder in the Third Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault and Possession of Firearm Prohibited.

In this case, Minder, along with several other co-defendants, is charged with the Aug. 31, 2022 homicide of Najeer Lane, 22, of Allentown, and the attempted murder of Bless Jones in shootings that occurred on the south side of Allentown.

That same day, Minder and his accomplices also fired a gun at another man in that area.

Minder also pleaded guilty to Aggravated Assault in a separate shooting that occurred on June 21, 2022 in Allentown and injured Danny Hanna.

Minder pleaded guilty to Possession of Firearm Prohibited for an incident that occurred on March 19, 2022 in Allentown. Minder was armed with a 9-millimeter semiautomatic handgun t hat was equippedwith a Glock switch that allowed it to fire as an automatic weapon.

In the final case, Minder also pleaded guilty to Flight to Avoid Apprehension in an incident that occurred on Sept. 6, 2022 in Bethlehem as officers attempted to arrest him.

The co-defendants charged in Lane’s homicide are awaiting trial.

Minder entered the guilty pleas in these cases today before Judge Thomas M. Caffrey and was sentenced to serve 40 to 80 years in state prison.

The case was investigated by the Lehigh County’s 12th Investigating Grand Jury in 2023. The case was investigated by Allentown Police Detective Harold Bonser, Lehigh County Homicide Task Force

Detective Amaury Almonte and was prosecuted by Chief Deputy District Attorney Bethany S. Zampogna and Deputy District Attorney Nicolo S. Baratta.
