The Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts has a new kitchen that can serve as many as 200 guests at the Historic Bethlehem institution.
The museum building at 427 N. New St. in Bethlehem, near City Hall and the library, dates from the 19th century. Kemerer was working out of a 50-year-old kitchen that could not handle a projected increase in events and guests expected from Bethlehem’s new UNESCO World Heritage Status.
Contractors including Morris Black Designs, a custom kitchen and bath remodeler, united to deliver the new kitchen.
Mark Doman, sales manager for Morris Black, said the new kitchen is “attractive and ergonomically efficient” for full-service catering. It’s going into service this month.
Most of the costs were covered by contractors and the Bealer-Green family.
In addition to Morris Black, the contractor team included Allentown Appliance, Bethlehem Gallery of Floors, Cosentino Importers, Diefenderfer Electrical Contractors, Eastern Surfaces, Wurth-Baer Supply, Fessenden Hall, and East Lawn Supply of Nazareth.
