PPL Corp. will report third-quarter results on Nov. 1, and follow up with a conference call with the investment community.
The Allentown-based power company is expected to report third-quarter earnings per share of 42 cents, according to the consensus estimate of three Wall Street analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research.
Investors will be interested in whether PPL gives any update on adding data centers in its service area. Big tech companies that are boosting Artificial Intelligence capabilities need data centers, which in turn need huge quantities of electricity.
PPL Chief Executive Vincent Sorgi has said earlier that adding data centers has been discussed with potential customers. The CEO also usually discusses the utility’s environmental goals each quarter.
PPL (NYSE:PPL) provides energy to about 3.5 million customers in Kentucky, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania.
The closing price of PPL shares Wednesday was $33.13, just 26 cents of the 52-week high. The company’s market capitalization is about $24.4 billion.
