Pye-Barker Acquires Protect Alarms Security Systems of Allentown; Acquirer Is Backed by Private Equity Firm

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has acquired Protect Alarms Security Systems of Allentown for an undisclosed price.

Atlanta-based Pye-Barker owns safety and security companies. It is controlled by Atlas Partnes, a private equity firm with offices in Toronto and New York.

Protect Alarms was founded in 1963 by Albert Taylor Jr., according to a statement from Pye-Barker.

Pye-Barker operates 230 locations and employs about 7,000 people in the U.S., according to the company statement.

Protect Alarms‘ office is at 1932 S. Fourth St. in Allentown.
