Bethlehem Township’s Planning Commission will review the plan for houses on the Miller Farm on Dec. 17.
The meeting agenda lists one item as of now: Fields at Farmersville preliminary subdivision plan.
Kay Builders’ plan is for more than 100 homes on the farm, which covers about 52 acres. When the plan was first public, there was a lot of opposition from neighbors, but the township zoning allows housing on the land.
The last firm number for houses I saw was 109, but it started as 166.
One objection was that people like to see cows, but as a planning commissioner noted, when people buy a home, they don’t buy the view.
Bethlehem Township is about 90% developed, and people complaining about development also live on what used to be farmland. The Miller farm is across Farmersville Road from the township community center and park.
The Bethlehem Township Planning Commission will meet Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. in the township municipal building, 4225 Easton Ave. The meeting will also be available on Zoom.
Here is the agenda; agendas are subject to change so check the township website before going.
