Bethlehem City Council to Consider $977,000 Contract for West Broad Street Improvements

— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs

Bethlehem City Council will review tonight a contract for as much as $977,318 for the design of West Broad Street improvements.

Council will meet at Town Hall at 7 p.m., and the meeting will be available via webcast. See the city website for the agenda and a link to the webcast.

The city has proposed changes to West Broad Street to make it safer, and to “calm traffic.”

The consultant proposed for the design of the work is Traffic Planning and Design, Inc., at 1720 Spillman Drive, Bethlehem. The contract is valued at $977,318, according to the agenda.

The contract is listed under the agenda’s “Communications” items.

The meeting looks like it could be pretty light, but in Bethlehem, one never knows when somebody wants to talk about unrelated issues from the Middle East to local history.
