Tom’s Tobacco, a Bethlehem lottery operation that was a local fixture for decades, has closed.
A sign at Tom’s at Gerrity’s Fresh Market, 1880 Stefko Blvd., says Tom has retired after four decades. He had fans who would hang out to chat when things weren’t busy, and he was a master of the lottery machine.
“Thank you for your patronage for the last 40 years,” the sign says. “I’ll miss this!”
Tom’s Tobacco was at the old Valley Farm location on Stefko Boulevard that is now a Wawa store, and moved to the Stefko Boulevard location when Valley Farm moved. The store later became a Gerrity’s Fresh Grocer.
There are still lottery machines at the store, with a machine for picking draw games at the front counter.
