Allegiant Reports Traffic Increase for January Over Year-Ago Numbers

Allegiant, which carries Lehigh Valley travelers to vacations and golf weekends, has reported an increase in traffic for January.

The Las Vegas-based discount airline served 1.253 million passengers on scheduled services in the month, up 6.5% from January 2024.

Load factor — which measures how much of the airline’s capacity is used — dropped to 78.8% in January, down from 80.7% a year ago.

Allegiant spent $2.66 per gallon of fuel in January, according to the airline’s statement.

The airline serves Lehigh Valley International Airport, carrying vacation-goers, Disney fans and snowbirds to the Sunbelt. Allegiant did not break down traffic via airport in its press release.

Shares of Allegiant (NASDAQ:ALGT) traded at $78.64, up $1.14, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
