Northampton County to Hold Casting of Lots for Ballot Position on Wednesday

Northampton County will hold an exercise in democracy on Wednesday, when candidates cast lots for ballot position in the May 20 primary election.

The tradition has sort of a Norman Rockwell-esque ring to it, but ballot position can mean a lot, particularly in elections where voters are not familiar with the candidates. Being on top can mean winding up on top.

Casting of lots will be held Wednesday, March 19 at 9 a.m. at the county Government Center, 669 Washington St., Easton. The session in County Council chambers on the third floor is open to the public and will be broadcast on the country’s YouTube channel.

Casting of lots will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 9:00 AM prevailing time to determine the order in which the candidates’ names are to appear on the Primary May 20, 2025 ballot. Located at the Northampton Government Center, 669 Washington St., Easton, PA 18042, in County Council Chambers on the 3^rd Floor.
