Man Pleads Guilty in Fentanyl Death of His 22-Month-Old Son

— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs

A 33-year-old Milwaukee man has pleaded guilty in the fentanyl death of his 22-month-old son.

Jorge Suarez-Santiago pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and other charges, according to Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan.

Johansy Suarez-Rivas died April 5, 2021, from fentanyl poisoning. His mother, Jayleen Rivas-Rodriguez, also faces charges.

Holihan said the parents used heroin and then the mother left the boy in the care of his father. The child ingested fentanyl while in the father’s care.

Suarez-Santiago faces 5 to 20 years in prison, the District Attorney said.

Again, I have to post the District Attorney’s statement as a screenshot until technical difficulties are resolved:
