Allentown School District Seeks Bids for Artificial Intelligence `Platform’

Education has changed.

— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs

The Allentown School District is seeking proposals for an “AI-powered platform.”

The district says on its website that Artificial Intelligence could “support educators in lesson planning, student assessments, data analysis, and personalized learnings strategies.”

Perhaps it could. Perhaps those are things that are already available via human activities and software, but the ASD may be onto something.

The details of the request for proposal, or RFP, are in this link. Bids are due by 4 p.m. April 17. The request for proposal is 17 pages long, not unusual.

The Allentown School District serves about 17,000 students, according to its website, at 21 schools and three “program sites.” The district’s students are 73% Hispanic. The district has three high schools, four middle schools and 14 elementary schools.
