The Lehigh Valley Planning Commission will review school projects proposed for Bethlehem Township, South Whitehall Township and Allentown at its meeting tonight.
In Bethlehem Township, the Primrose Schools Childcare Center is proposed for 5007 Freemansburg Ave. It would cover 14,088 feet.
That site was earlier considered for a 26-unit apartment building.
The Allentown School District plans a “Family Engagement and Resource Center” (a catchy name indeed) at 265 Lehigh St. This would be a two-story expansion of the school the ASD refers to as “Building 21.” Another catchy name!
Then there is the planned expansion of Parkland High School at 2700 N. Cedar Crest Blvd.
Parkland is one district that always seems to have money. This plan includes a 5,385-square-foot expansion to the athletic entrance area, a 2,753-square-foot cafeteria expansion, classroom expansions, a building addition and through some shifting of space, additional parking.
The Lehigh Valley Planning Commission is in most cases an advisory body. Final decisions on the above projects will be made by the host municipalities.
The LVPC will meet tonight, Thursday, April 24 at 7 p.m. The agenda and a link to a webcast of the meeting may be found on the LVPC website.
