North Whitehall Township will meet May 29 to discuss the Nexus 78 project, a planned warehouse on Route 309.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Lehigh Carbon Community College in the Lisa Jane Scheller Community Services Center Building 7 (Parking Lot F).
Nexus 78, a proposed half-million-square-foot warehouse, would be on multiple lots, though its address is listed as 3121 Route 309, about a half-mile north of Orefield Middle School.

In May 2024, the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission took a dim view of the proposal, noting the height of the building (50 feet), traffic, and incompatible nearby land use, including residences.
Truck traffic, congestion and the distance to Route 22 and Route 78 have been raised by opponents of the plan, but the land use is allowed by zoning.
The LVPC is an advisory body in this case; North Whitehall Township will make the final land-use decision and a warehouse is a permitted use on the 71-acre site, now farmland and woods.
Developer Trammell Crow is the same company that bought the former Dutch Springs waterpark to develop two warehouses. Trammell Crow is part of CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate company. CBRE’s annual revenue tops $35 billion. Shares of CBRE (NYSE:CBRE) traded at $131.36 at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
The quarry lake, now known as Lake Hydra, is open for diving only now. Reservations and credentials are required. See the website for information.
Back to North Whitehall, the Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, at Lehigh Carbon Community College, 4525 Education Park Drive in Schnecksville, in the Lisa Jane Scheller Community Services Center Building 7 (Parking Lot F).
Agendas are subject to change. Check the township website before the meeting.
Taking away more farm land. Where do we replace that? Deer getting hit on the road because of plenty more traffic & traffic jams?? I understand that helps with jobs & taxes..YEAH!!
