Palmer Township to Consider Increased Pay for Supervisors, Per-Meeting Pay for Zoning, Planning, Stormwater Boards

— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs

Palmer Township’s Board of Supervisors will consider raising their annual compensation to $6,915, a $2,800 increase, at their meeting tonight.

The board will also consider compensation for Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board and Stormwater Authority members who are not township employees:

“Each Member shall receive one hundred dollars ($100) for every regular meeting of the
Palmer Township Planning Commission and fifty dollars ($50) for every work session.”

I used to report on Palmer Township meetings, and they were usually brief and businesslike. That was a few years ago. Some meetings go long, mostly because people repeat themselves or start talking about things that have nothing to do with local government.

Here is a link to tonight’s agenda items.

The Palmer Township Board of Supervisors will meet at 7 p.m. at the township municipal building at 3 Weller Place, which is just off Newburg Road.
