Northampton County to Hear LVPC Presentation; Governance Meeting Canceled; Realtors, Nazareth Food Bank to Address Development Committee

July 2, 2025

— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs

Northampton County Council will hear a presentation from the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission on Thursday.

Lehigh and Northampton counties provide funds to the LVPC, which tries to guide development in the region. In most cases, the commission is an advisory body.

Northampton County Executive Lamont G. McClure and some Council members have at times been tough on the commission and Executive Director Becky Bradley at times, questioning the LVPC’s spending and salaries.

Thursday’s full council meeting agenda is light otherwise. The full Council will meet at 6:30 p.m.

Council’s Governance Committee meeting was canceled “due to unforeseen circumstances.”

The Economic Development Committee will meet at 3:30 p.m. and hear presentations from the Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors and the Nazareth Food Bank.

Both meetings will be held in Council’s chambers on the third floor of the government center in Easton.
