Hanover Township (Northampton County) Reminds Residents of Fireworks Limits

Three days, 12 hours, of fireworks should be enough for anybody … but it won’t be. Even if they don’t know why July 4 is a holiday. Photo courtesy of Hanover Township.

Hanover Township (Northampton County) is reminding residents that there are limits on setting off fireworks, even on and around July 4.

Some of the people making noise don’t even know what the holiday is for, they just want attention, so there will be noise no matter what.

Township rules require that only people 18 and up set off consumer fireworks, and the hours allowed are 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on July 3, July 4 and July 5.

Fines start at $500. The rules prohibit setting them off within 150 feet of an occupied structure, which — in theory — makes them illegal in much of the township.

Also, people setting them off should not be under the influence of alcohol. Yep.
