The Wilbur Mansion Restaurant in South Bethlehem has closed and will re-open Aug. 6 as Swift.

The hotel at the site is fully open, according to the Wilbur Mansion website.

The Open Table website describes the new restaurant as Mediterranean-style and refers to it as Swift & Olive. The name refers to swifts, which live in old chimneys in the area.

The Wilbur Mansion is at 201 Cherokee St., just off Wyandotte Street and near the Lehigh River. It was built in 1864.

Here’s the statement from the Wilbur Mansion website:

The Wilbur Mansion restaurant will be closing on June 24th to prepare for Swift, our new and exciting dining concept. We will reopen on Wednesday, August 6th.

The Wilbur Mansion Hotel and Event Center remains fully open and we continue to book and host weddings, meetings, and special events.
