Bethlehem City Council is due to vote on the ordinance that regulates development on Tuesday.

Revisions to the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance, amiably known as SALDO, are on the agenda for Tuesday. SALDO sets rules for building height, density, and all those things that are considered before seven-, eight- and nine-story buildings go up.

SALDO is 101 pages long; here’s a link. This ordinance may be dry and dull to some, but it’s very important.

Here is a resident’s view of the changes to the ordinance, posted earlier.

Meanwhile, Musikfest is over so it’s time to get ready for Oktoberfest. Council is due to vote on a permit for the fall festival held by ArtsQuest. Such votes are usually routine.

Bethlehem City Council will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19 in Town Hall. Here is a link to the agenda, which also has a link to a webcast.

Agendas are subject to change. Check the city website before the meeting.
