Two Northampton County Council members could have used Thursday’s meeting to denounce Kelly Keegan for comments Keegan made after the death of Charlie Kirk.
They did not. Instead of seeking political payback, both spoke in a balanced, factual way that served to ease tension, not exploit it.
As Bernie O’Hare’s Lehigh Valley Ramblings blog notes, Council President Lori Vargo Heffner, a Democrat, and John Goffredo, a Republican, both had reasons to go after Keegan, a Democrat in her first term on council.
Remember: elections matter.
