Main Street in Freemansburg has seen a lot of road work in the past year, and Borough Council may add a little bit more.
Council will consider adding six speed bumps to Main Street. The safeguards would be placed between Washington and Market streets, according to a legal notice.
Borough Council took a preliminary look at an ordinance to add speed bumps at its Oct. 14 meeting.
Here’s the note from that meeting agenda:
Ordinance #2025-005 – an ordinance establishing 6 speed humps on Main Street between Washington Street and Market Street as detailed in the attached Traffic and Engineering Study prepared by Carroll Engineering also authorizing pavement markings to reflect the warnings for the speed repealer

The Northampton County canal town has a population of about 2,910, according to the borough’s website. It is named for Jacob Freeman, who acquired land and divided it into lots. The borough was incorporated in 1856.
Freemansburg Borough Council will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the municipal building, 600 Monroe St.
