Sheetz wants to transfer a liquor license from Lower Saucon Township to its Hellertown location.

The Sheetz on Main Street and Kichline Avenue isn’t noted yet on the Sheetz website, so it’s probably not open, but it’s getting ready to sell alcoholic beverages.

According to a Hellertown legal notice, Sheetz is asking for the license at 3750 Philadelphia Pike, Lower Saucon, to be transferred to the convenience store. That address appears to be for the former Belmont Inne, which closed last year on Old Philadelphia Pike.

Sheetz is based in Altoona and operates about 800 stores, according to Convenience Store News. It competes with Wawa and other convenience-store chains.

Hellertown Borough Council will hold a public hearing on the liquor-license transfer at 6 p.m. on Nov. 24 at Borough Hall, 685 Main St.
