Forks Township’s Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing next month on the removal of a police officer.

According to a legal notice posted by the township:

“Notice is hearby given that the Board of Supervisors of Forks Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, will hold a public hearing on the removal of Police Officer James Parsons.”

The hearing will be held at 10 a.m. on Dec. 16 at the Forks Township Municipal Building, 1606 Sullivan Trail.

No reasons were given for the hearing or the proposed removal. The public may attend as may the officer and any counsel.

Parsons joined the Forks force in October, 2023, according to meeting minutes.

Meeting minutes from Sept. 22, 2025, say “D. Turner made a motion, seconded by T. Hughes, to terminate James Parsons as Forks Township Police Officer effective Monday, September 22, 2025.”

The names above refer to supervisors Dean Turner and Tim Hughes, based on that night’s agenda and attendance.

Meeting agendas are subject to change. Check the township website closer to the date.

The township staff directory still lists Parsons.
