The former Rite Aid drug store on Stefko Boulevard in Bethlehem has been sold for $1.3 million.
The bankrupt chain closed all its stores this year. Prescriptions were transferred to other pharmacies. See this link for information about that process.
Northampton County recorded the transaction on Dec. 12. The buyer is a limited liability corporation using the address — 1781 Stefko — as its name. The buyer’s address is listed at a private home in Lehigh County.

Rite Aid closed all its stores this year after a bankruptcy filing. Competition from Walgreens and CVS hurt, and Walmart, Giant and other businesses have added pharmacies. Amazon continues to try to expand in healthcare.
The Rite Aid building covers 11,900 square feet. It was built in 1985, according to a real estate ad.
The property is just under three-quarters of an acre, but its location on busy Stefko Boulevard and ample parking help its value.
