— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs

The Bethlehem Area School District will discuss a $24 million bond issue at tonight’s meeting.

The school board meeting was pushed back from Monday because of the weekend snowstorm.

The bond issue will cover the second phase of borrowing to pay for the new Fountain Hill Elementary School and related expenses. The debt will be sold privately, via negotiation, not auction.

The school board will also review the proposed cost-sharing agreement for an investigation into cracks at Nitschmann Middle School. The district, D’Huy Engineering, Breslin Architects and Penn Builders will each pay $9,375 for a total of $37,500.

The Board of School Directors of the Bethlehem Area School District will meet tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. the BASD Education Center, 1516 Sycamore St. in Bethlehem (NOT at East Hills Middle School).
