A 2.34-acre tract on Freemansburg Avenue in Bethlehem Township has been sold for $490,000.

Last year, the township approved a Primrose Schools daycare center for the 5007 Freemansburg Ave. property. Primrose was founded in 1982 in Georgia and now operates more than 500 centers, according to its website.

The land had been considered earlier for apartments, or an office building, but neither use matched the rural residential district zoning.

“Concerns for both uses included access, frontage improvements, and the neighboring residential area,” according to a 2022 township memo about the apartment and office proposals.

The property is across the street and slightly west of the CVS pharmacy off Wagner Drive. The buyer is AMBE Easton, a limited-liability corporation based at a private home in Lehigh County, and the seller was Badi Associates. The property was last sold for $225,250 in 2022.

At $490,000, the price works out to about $209,000 per acre.

The sale, recorded by Northampton County on Feb. 2.
