Bethlehem Planning Commission to See Scaled-Back Atiyeh Plan for Townhouses off Eaton Avenue

Abe Atiyeh’s proposal is now for five townhouses perpendicular to Eaton Avenue, behind an existing home.

Bethlehem’s Planning Commission will take a look Thursday at an Abe Atiyeh plan for five townhouses at 1224 Eaton Ave.

The developer proposed six homes earlier, in two buildings of three units each. Now, the plan is for five, two in one buiding and three in the second. The existing home at 1224 Eaton Ave. will remain.

Atiyeh’s PAJ Venture LP plans to put up the buildings on a plot of land next to Heckenberger Dental, which is on the corner of Eaton Avenue and Primrose Lane. Atiyeh seeks three variances for the site.

Here is a link to the city’s review letter, and this link is to the plans. The new homes will be set back from Eaton Avenue, behind the existing home.

The Bethlehem Planning Commission will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in Town Hall on Church Street. Here is a link to the agenda. Agendas are subject to change. The Atiyeh plan is the only item on Thursday’s agenda, which is shown below in cut-and-paste format:

    The applicant proposes to maintain the existing single-family detached dwelling and existing driveway and
    construct three single-family attached dwellings (aka townhomes or rowhomes) and two single-family
    semi-detached dwellings (aka duplex or twins) for a total of five new dwellings; 11 off-street parling
    spaces, emergency turnaround, dumpster enclosure and other site appurtenances. Vehicular access for the
    new dwellings is proposed via a new ingress/egress drive along the east end of the property.
