Six Flags, owner of amusement parks and resorts, has recruited football player Travis Kelce to promote its properties.
Kelce is a tight end with the Kansas City Chiefs. He recently indicated that he will return for the 2026-27 season, his 14th in the National Football League.
Six Flags, owner of Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in South Whitehall Township, will use Kelce’s name and image in advertising and at parks.
“Travis Kelce has been a lifelong fan of Six Flags,” John Reilly, president and chief executive of the park operator, said in a press release.
“Six Flags parks were a hallmark of my childhood and the scene of some of my most fun and cherished memories,” Kelce said.
Kelce has won individual honors as a tight end and played on three Super Bowl champions with the Chiefs. He is engaged to singer Taylor Swift. His brother Jason was a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, retiring in 2024, one year before the Eagles defeated Travis Kelce’s Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
The financial terms of the agreement announced today were not disclosed.
Kelce has also been involved in activist investor Jana Partners, which owns a stake in Six Flags.
Six Flags (NYSE:FUN) has staggered since the 2024 combination of Six Flags and Cedar Fair. The company has been weighed down by debt since the merger and fallen short of its own financial projections.
The company recently announced the sale of seven parks for $331 million, but Dorney remains in the Six Flags portfolio.
The closing price Wednesday of Six Flags shares was $15.44, less than half of the 52-week high of $39.21.
