Asylum Fitness moved into the old MAXX Fitness at 2920 Easton Ave. in Bethlehem Township last October.
The gym wasn’t open Sunday. It had a sign saying “GYM CLOSING 3/14” (Saturday) posted and the phone number wasn’t answered Sunday or today.
Google is not always accurate, but a search for the location says it is permanently closed.
The old MAXX gym appeared to draw a lot of people, particularly early in the day, but it didn’t make it at the site. Asylum Fitness opened before a bad winter, making competing in a tough market for fitness even more difficult.
Whether it’s closed for good isn’t certain yet, but based on the sign, it appears to be. I pass by the gym often and it’s been closed each time.
If the gym re-opens, I’ll be glad to post that. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I became wary of saying a place was closed permanently without absolute proof.
For now, Asylum Fitness at Suite 5, 2920 Easton Ave. in Bethlehem Township, appears to be closed.
That mall has, in addition to the Giant, a Petco, dry cleaner, furniture store, Dairy Queen, and Tom’s Bagels, for great and inexpensive bagels and more.
