Keystone Food Products, a Northampton County-based maker of snacks, has been acquired by a Michigan company.
CK Curls of Grand Rapids announced the transaction Wednesday. The price was not disclosed.
Keystone will continue to operate locally, at its plant at 3767 Hecktown Road in Lower Nazareth Township. The company has operated in the Easton area since its founding by William Corriere in 1946.
Keystone makes Party Mix, onion rings, vegetable sticks and other snacks.
“This acquisition helps build out both our geographic reach and our portfolio of products,” Jamie Colbourne, chief executive of CK, said in a press release.
CK’s product line includes Cheese Kurls, and it makes private-label popcorn, extruded products and other snacks that are sold under other food companies’ brands. Extruded snacks are shaped and given texture during the manufacturing process.
CK Snacks was founded in 1964. It also has a plant, Axium Foods, in Illinois.
