Bethlehem Township to Hear Zoning Appeals for Christian School, Medical Office at Nov. 20 Hearing

— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs

Bethlehem Township’s Zoning Hearing Board will consider appeals for two projects, one a proposed Christian school on Green Pond Road and the other for a medical office on William Penn Highway.

Bethlehem Christian School wants to use a home at 5575 Green Pond Road as an office while it builds a primary and secondary school. Offices are not a permitted use in the Agriculture District zone.

“The appellant (the school) is requesting to temporarily operate the existing dwelling as
an office during the Land Development phase, prior to and during the erection
of a proposed primary and secondary school, at which time the office will
become a permitted accessory use to the school.”

The school also wants more time to meet off-street parking requirements.

The site is across from the Traditions housing development.

The board will also hear an appeal for less off-street parking and other requirements at 4444 William Penn Highway, site of a proposed medical office. That property is between Pennsylvania Street and Hodle Avenue, and is across William Penn Highway from the Northampton Country Club.

The Bethlehem Township Zoning Hearing Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the municipal building, 4225 Easton Ave.

Agendas are subject to change. See the township’s website closer to the meeting.
