Orion Group, a New York City-based investment outfit, said Monday it is in a “partnership” with Agentis Plumbing of Bethlehem.

That partnership appears to be an acquisition. The word “partnership” is used for a lot of transactions, rather than just saying what really happened. That’s how PR works, for some reason.

The Orion press release identifies Nate Agentis as “former owner” of the plumbing company.

In the Orion statement, Nate Agentis is quoted as saying the Orion transaction “will help us expand our legacy, introduce new services like HVAC, and reach new territories beyond the Lehigh Valley.”

From the Agentis website: “As a third generation family-owned business, Agentis Plumbing has served Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, and the entire Lehigh Valley since 1954.” It provides commercial, residential, and emergency plumbing services. 

The Orion website describes Orion this way: “We are long-term investors who are passionate about growing the highest quality businesses in our markets.” Orion invests in mechanical-service companies.

Agentis is at 2678 Butztown Road in Bethlehem Township (not far from Easton Avenue and the border with the City of Bethlehem).
