Gen. Timothy Haugh, a Lehigh University graduate, has been fired as director of the National Security Agency, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Haugh was also head of U.S. Cyber Command, which oversees cybersecurity. He was appointed director of NSA and head of Cyber Command in 2024.

The Journal said Haugh was removed “following a meeting that the right-wing conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer had with (President Trump) in which she alleged that some members of his administration weren’t aligned with his priorities.”

Haugh is a 1991 Lehigh graduate with a degree in Russian studies. His military career started in Bethlehem. He was in Lehigh’s Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC).

He has a remarkable resume (see link above) though it might be wiped out soon by the federal government. Suffice to say, he is qualified by any standard and has held a series of important positions. Here is a Wikipedia biography that is safe from federal manipulation.

In addition to his Lehigh degree, Haugh has master’s degrees from Southern Methodist University, the Naval Postgraduate School and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.

He has integrity, so there is no room in the current administration for him.
