ArtsQuest, which runs Musikfest, will call its new arts center in south Bethlehem the “ArtsQuest Creative Factory Powered by PPL.”
That’s a long name and soon we will find what people will really call it.
The $26 million building will go up on the site of the Banana Factory, which was demolished .
I hope the people who use it come up with a short version of the name, perhaps “The Factory.” Or maybe the art place or art building or art edifice.
The building will be five stories high with frontage on Third Street.
I don’t know how much PPL, the Allentown-based power company, put up for naming rights, but ArtsQuest is looking for more money for the art place.
The old Banana Factory was once a warehouse for fruit, thus that name.
