Breinigsville Warehouse Cutting 101 Jobs by Oct. 10: WARN Notice

July 31, 2025

— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs

Supply Chain Solutions in Breinigsville is cutting 101 jobs, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.

The department posted a WARN Notice as required by the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act to advise workers and communities of certain mass firings.

Supply Chain Solutions is at 8150 Industrial Blvd. in Upper Macungie Township, in the area known as Breinigsville. Several warehouses operate in that area, near the intersection of Route 78 and Route 100.

In some cases, typically involving institutional food service and sometimes warehouses, workers are technically fired when a new company takes over a contract, but often many remain with the new operator.

now tear down the warehouse and return the land to it’s natural state. Half of these warehouses have no tenants anyway. And how about they pay for storm water runoff and not the homeowners.

The warehouse vacancy rate is about 3-4%, so your “half” comment is more than half wrong. I’m sure there will be a tenant backfilling the space within months.

Also, the individual property owners pay for stormwater runoff when the land is developed, as well as maintenance of any stormwater facilities on their lands. This mostly applies to large industrial buildings, including warehousing. The average homeowner does not have SWM facilities on their property, so they pay nothing. There’s no “stormwater tax” in Upper Mac, although some communities in the Lehigh Valley do have one.
