Asylum Fitness says it will open soon at the former Bethlehem Township location of Maxx Fitness.
There’s a sign in the window at 2920 Easton Ave., where Maxx Fitness operated until 2024.
That shopping center, anchored by Giant, used to be known as Easton Commons, a name that nobody used. It is now known as The Shops at Bethlehem, another name that nobody uses. It is known as the shopping center with a Giant in it, and it’s home to Vic’s Bagels and other retailers.

Asylum Fitness promises child care, group classes, personal training, along with flexible membership options.
The old Maxx Fitness was usually busy when I passed it. It’s on the east side of the “shopping center with Giant in it” and near the former Bethehem Drive-In, where 220 apartments are going in.
There was some activity inside when I walked by the Aslum-to-be on Tuesday, but no opening date was posted. There’s a little more information on the Asylum website.
