A former bank on a prominent corner in Bethlehem Township has been sold for $750,000, according to Northampton County property records.

The sale of the former Lafayette Ambassador bank at 3301 Easton Ave. was recorded by the county on Feb. 12. The property covers 1.1 acres, and the building has 3,024 square feet of floor space, according to the county.

The Bethlehem Township website does not as of today indicate any proposed new use for the site. In 2021, the township Planning Commission reviewed a proposal for a medical-marijuana dispensary at the vacant bank. The dispensary never opened.

In the 1980s, when there was some turmoil in the township development process, the site was proposed for a used-car lot. That plan failed.

The bank building is on a busy stretch of Easton Avenue near the Keystone Pub, and down Santee Road from Freedom High School. Eastbound traffic often backs up from the intersection of Santee Road and Easton Avenue toward the Giant shopping center to the west.

A real estate ad describes the location, marked above, as near Stefko Boulevard and Route 33.

The next Bethlehem Township Planning Commission meeting, scheduled for Feb. 23, does not as of now mention the property.

The county lists the new owner as Cesur Saglam, and the seller as Clearfield Road Properties. The property was last sold in February 2025 for $525,000, according to Northampton County records.

Thank you. I don’t see anything on the township website about a Feb. 17 meeting, but I will check again. The site shows a Feb. 16 meeting but that was a holiday.
