Imanol Caraballo, 24, of Allentown will serve time in state prison for a 2023 crash that killed two people, Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan said today.

Caraballo pleaded guilty Jan. 21 to two counts of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and other charges, Holihan said in a press release.

Allentown police responded around 1:15 a.m. on Dec. 10, 2023, to a hit-and-run crash in the 300 block of Hamilton Street, the District Attorney said.

Pedestrians Christopher Stocker, 44, and Luz Ruiz-Acosta, 43, both died from blunt-force injuries.

Caraballo and his car were found not far away, and his blood tested positive for THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, Holihan said.

Judge Anna-Kristie M. Marks sentenced Caraballo today to 9 to 30 years in state prison, Holihan said.
