A new Colombian restaurantis opening today at 8 W. Broad St. in Bethlehem.

Mis Raices — “my roots” in Spanish — also operates at 2915 Schoenersville Road in Bethlehem. The downtown branch wasn’t quite ready for customers around 11 a.m. today, but an employee said it would be open sometime this afternoon.

“We are a fusion of Colombian food with touches of American food,” according to a social media post.

The new downtown spot is at the site of a former Subway sandwich shop. The employee said the tentative hours for the now restaurant are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the owners plan to get a liquor license.

Mis Raices menu, as listed on Yelp, includes breakfast items. Some omelets are American-style and some have Colombian ingredients (one contains shredded pork, chipotle and hollandaise sauce).

The menu includes vegetarian items, arepas, burgers, quesadillas, plantains, a Colombian platter with ground beef, beans, rice, plantains, eggs, avocado, chorizo and pork belly; chicken, steak, salad, and children’s items.
