— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs
Air Products, the most important Lehigh Valley-based company, will report second-quarter results April 30.
The maker of industrial gases is still moving away from the management of former Chief Executive Seifi Ghasemi, who was steering the company toward leading a clean-energy future, to the current administration of CEO Eduardo Menezes. He succeeded Ghasemi a little over a year ago after a boardroom battle over Ghasemi’s vision versus a focus on the traditional business of making hydrogen, helium and other gases.
Shares of Air Products (NYSE:APD) haven’t done much for years. The closing price Thursday was $297.24, slightly below the 52-week high of $301.25. The company’s dividend yield is about 2.5%.
Zacks Investment Research’s consensus estimates for Air Products’ results for the second quarter are for revenue of $3.06 billion and earnings per share of $3.04.
Air Products is based in Upper Macungie Township. Its annual sales are around $12 billion. The company’s market capitalization (number of shares outstanding times current price) is $66.2 billion as of Thursday.
