The Easton Area School District Board of Directors will vote tonight on a $223.3 million budget with a 3.5% tax increase. They will also review Phase 1 of the new $298 million high school.
The 2026-27 spending plan sets the property tax at 74.7 mills. Each mill equals $1 tax per $1,000 of assessed value.
Tonight’s vote is the final tally. Back in May, the board voted in favor of next year’s budget, 6 to 3. As explained in May, the tax increase includes money for regular operations and for the new high school.

RESOLUTION
Adoption of 2026-2027 EASD Budget
June 23, 2026
RESOLVED, that the Board of School Directors of the Easton Area School District, Northampton
County, hereby authorizes a Final General Fund Budget in the amount of $223,270,226 as set
forth herein during the school year 2026-2027 and proposes to levy the following taxes to
provide the necessary revenue for same:
Real Estate 74.7
Wage Tax 0.5%
Real Estate Transfer Tax (Act 511)
School District 0.5%
Local 0.5%

The board will also review Phase 1 of the $298 million new Easton Area High School. The first phase is mostly the athletic complex, with new stadiums, tennis courts and lighting. Phase 1 also includes stormwater updates that will serve the whole campus.
The Easton Area School District serves the City of Easton and the townships of Palmer, Forks and Lower Mount Bethel.
The school board will meet at 7 p.m. at the EASD education center, 1801 Bushkill Drive.
